Nigerian football fans have reasons to both cheer and fume this week. While our "Masked Assassin" Victor Osimhen is set for a Champions League showdown, another Super Eagle, Tolu Arokodare, is facing a battle off the pitch.

Osimhen Ready for Turin

Galatasaray received a massive boost as Osimhen returned to full training on Monday. After missing domestic action due to a knee scare, he is fit to lead the line against Juventus in Wednesday's UCL play-off. Holding a 5-2 lead from the first leg, the Turkish giants are counting on Osimhen to finish the job in Italy.

Outrage Over Arokodare Abuse

In England, Wolverhampton Wanderers have expressed "disgust" over racist abuse directed at Tolu Arokodare following their match against Crystal Palace. Arokodare, who missed a penalty in the 1-0 loss, shared screenshots of the vile messages. The UK Football Policing Unit has confirmed an investigation is underway.

“2026, and it’s still the same thing,” fellow star Wesley Fofana noted in solidarity. The Nigerian football community is currently rallying under the hashtag #StandWithTolu.
