Music: Crayon - Ijo (laba-laba)

Music: Crayon - Ijo (laba-laba)

Nigeria’s Crayon first broke in 2019 with his EP Cray Cray. Three years on, he has become an Afropop staple, an Audiomack Hometown Hero, and has hit a new dawn with his burgeoning career. The Mavin Records artist followed Cray Cray with Twelve A.M, a four-track project with big-name features and one of his biggest hits in “Too Correct” with Rema. The EP was an inflection point for an artist whose momentum was halted by the pandemic’s onset in 2020.

Back in 2021, Crayon told us: “I just want to take Afrobeats to that apex level where all eyes are on us.” With “Ijo (Laba Laba),” Crayon’s first solo release of the year, he’s one step closer to his global mission. Produced by Sarz, the bright and fluttering tune is primed for summer parties worldwide, playing out like a hustle anthem with a lighter touch. Cray way.

“You should listen to this song whenever you're down and you want your spirit lifted,” Crayon shares with Audiomack World. “I made it to make people happy while they dance.”
