JAMB 2026 Registration Crisis: Peter Obi Demands Deadline Extension

JAMB 2026: Peter Obi Joins Calls for Deadline Extension Amid Registration Glitches

By [Ohizu Chibuike Paschal] | February 24, 2026

Thousands of 2026 UTME candidates are currently stranded as technical glitches continue to mar the JAMB registration portal. With the deadline fast approaching, former presidential candidate Peter Obi has added his voice to the growing outcry, urging JAMB to fix the system and extend the registration window.

"Our Youth Are Frustrated" — Peter Obi

In a statement released via X (formerly Twitter), Obi highlighted the plight of students in rural areas who have spent days at CBT centers without success. "We cannot talk about the future of Nigeria while making it impossible for our youths to even register for exams," he stated.

JAMB has acknowledged the "temporary downtime" but insists that the deadline remains unchanged for now, sparking fears of a massive disenfranchisement of students.
